When you are arguably one of the most heralded entertainers ever … well, at least of today, and with over 200 days left of incarceration, there logically has to be some release to endure the boredom and separation from your fans.
Lil Wayne certainly fits that bill, and in his case the release happens to be blogging about his favorite non-musical subject: sports. Modern day’s most popular rapper posted his first entrance on his Web site, Weezy Thanx You, in a section called Tune’s Sports Corner.
On the blog, Weezy first analyzes the Donovan McNabb trade. Sharing nothing but smart commentary, he states that the Eagles trading of McNabb was the “craziest QB trade since the Brett to the Vikings debacle.”
He continues by asking, “Why send him to Washington? Now he [McNabb] gets to play the Eagles twice. I’m sure he has those days marked already. The other reason is the Eagles don’t have a sufficient QB to fulfill the role. I mean, the 2nd round pick, Kevin Kolb, and Michael Vick doesn’t exactly fit the bill if you ask me. Philly is a hard place to play and an even harder place to play for. My sympathy goes out to Kolb and Vick, who will be expected to do nothing other than win.”
The locked down Grammy Award winner also says that even though McNabb’s glory days are long gone, he still has plenty left in the tank to thrive under the direction of all-time great coach Mike Shanahan. He then goes on to exclaim “Get ’em Donovan!”
Lastly, for all those die-hard NFL football fans, if you’re wondering how the NFL draft might play out, look no further; Weezy was kind enough to grace us with his insight on the subject. His version goes something like this “My Top Five NFL draft Picks are 1. Ndamukong Suh / Jimmy Clausen, 2. Gerald McCoy, 3. Eric Berry, 4. Dez Bryant, 5. Russel O Kung.”
