Why did you name yourself the R&B bully?
Because bullies tend to pick on people until they get what they want, so I picked on the music industry until I got what I wanted, which was success.
Have you always wanted to be an entertainer?
Always. It’s my passion, whether it’s playing instruments, producing, songwriting [or] arranging, I love it all.
Where do you get your inspiration?
From seeing how people react to my music; it’s a real talent, my whole gift is God-given.
Where did the concept for your single, “In Love Wit Yo Booty,” come from?
A lot of people have things that they’re in love with: some people love fashion, some are in love with jewelry, others are in love with cars. I might just so happen to be in love with booty, so I flipped it into a song.
What do you want people to know about you?
I always give thanks to the Lord first, that’s what I live by. … Expect good music from John Blu on a consistent basis — from pop, rock [and] R&B [to] gospel, there’s nothing I can’t do.
