The Tennessee Titans selected Myron Rolle as the 207th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.
Rolle starred at Florida State University for two years and was a third-team all-American before leaving FSU to further his education as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford.
Many analysts and even a few scouts questioned Rolle’s dedication to football because of his academic endeavors. But he proved to be a valuable asset by having a productive showing at the Senior Bowl and performing well in workouts for several teams.
“I had just taken a nap because I was waiting so long today,” Rolle said in a statement after he was drafted. “I had just gotten up, I saw the 615 area code, and they said, ‘Myron, are you ready to be a Titan?’ I said, ‘Absolutely.'” –a.r.
