Tabloid on Obama’s Heels: Allege John Edwards-Style Cheating

Barack Obama

The same tabloid that was up for a Pulitzer in journalism for exposing John Edwards as a cheater and downright rotten liar, is at it again — this time with our President.

The National Enquirer is claiming that Barack Obama “became close to” 35-year-old campaign aide Vera Baker, quoting an anonymous limo driver who claims to have dropped Baker off for a “secret rendezvous” at a DC hotel. The details are very sketchy on the timing of the clandestine meeting, but the driver is certain that Baker went into the hotel with Obama, even though she supposedly “did not have a room.”

The tabloid claims to be hunting a hotel surveillance tape that will provide “indisputable evidence.” Obama-haters, meanwhile, are purportedly offering $1 million-plus for anyone able to provide conclusive evidence.

I sure hope the accusations are false – and dealing with a tabloid they likely are, but I wouldn’t go as far as to put it past anybody. Publications of the tabloid nature publish so often with largely inaccurate or misleading material, but every now and then a story gets traction and grows legs. That said, if the President were guilty of an affair with his aide, would it change your opinion of him and would he get your vote for a second term? –gerald radford
