DMX Making Progress in Treatment: ‘Celebrity Rehab’ Denied

DMX is reportedly making great progress on his road to recovery from drug addiction.  In fact, he’s doing so well, his request to leave the Arizona court-appointed substance abuse program to receive more publicized treatment from Dr. Drew’s Celebrity Rehab has been denied.

The judge handling X’s request to leave Arizona to participate in the California-based celeb program felt that cutting the state’s sanctioned treatment short could be more of a hinderance than a help, a rep for the Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona says. The judge also noted that X has almost completed the process, which will end in July.

The rapper would receive authorization to join the VH1 program after the current treatment ends, but the show will have already begun taping.   

X is currently in jail in Arizona for violating his probation.
