Lil Wayne has managed to keep his name in headlines even from behind bars.
The rapper, who is currently serving a one-year bid at New York’s Rikers Island on gun charges, has found himself in deep trouble yet again.
This time, the rapper was reportedly caught by guards during an early morning search with a pair of earphones and an iPod charger.
Authorities seized the items at 8 a.m., after being tipped off by a prison snitch. Officers found the music contraband wrapped in foil inside a bag stuffed in Lil Wayne’s trash. An additional search produced the accompanying music player that was found in another inmate’s cell.
Wayne and his accomplice will be charged with an infraction for being in possession of “music contraband.”
Authorities are investigating how the items were smuggled into the prison.
