Teacher Allows Students To Wear Ku Klux Klan Gear and Why Allowing This Behavior Is a Bad Idea

A history teacher in rural Georgia was suspended after she allowed four white students to wear Ku Klux Klan outfits in a so-called “historical reenactment”.

Catherine Ariemma, a five-year veteran with the Lumpkin County school system, teaches an advanced placement history class at Lumpkin County High. Her students were filming reenactments of various historical periods last week, and four donned Klan outfits, superintendent Dewey Moye told reporters.

Is it just me, or has the number of dumbfounding racist activities risen exponentially since President Obama took over the Oval Office? Some folks are really taking a black man ascending to the highest office in the land very hard. And worse yet, you have folks like that brunette bubble-head Sarah Palin who always steps in to rationalize their race bating diatribe and demeaning portraits of the president.

Here’s the problem with allowing this type of free speech and and unchecked activity to fester unabated. Some lunatic who is already dangling dangerously on the fringes of society and who has little or nothing to live for, will want to go out in some sort of glory. Therefore the sociopath is willing to try and chop down the president of the United States.

It’s happened before. In fact, it happened twice in one family. One lunatic, Lee Harvey Oswald, took out one president [John Kennedy], while Sirhan Sirhan took out his brother and would-be president [Robert Kennedy] – all within the short span of five years. And we all remember John Hinkley Jr., the hopelessly disturbed psychopath who nearly assassinated President Ronald Reagan in 1981 in a futile attempt to win over the love of actress Jodie Foster.

So we are treading on dangerous ground when we accommodate hate-filled citizens, perpetrating some inflated and false sense of patriotism to spew nothing more than invectives against a black man and profit by peddling hate. It is too easy for some disturbed individual, thinking he’s on some righteous campaign, to try to perpetrate something mindless and dangerous. – terry shropshire
