Mother Arrested for Biting Chunk Out of Daughter’s Breast

altThere is a new definition of motherly love in the city of Gainesville, Fla., and it is unlike that of bygone days. Police in the city of Gainesville charged a woman Friday after the woman’s 17-year-old-daughter was found bleeding from a bite mark on her breast.

Edrena Kay King, age 39, was booked on June 18 at the Alachula County jail on charges of cruelty toward a child and abuse without great harm after a physical altercation with her daughter.

According to the report filed by Officer Kelvin A. Walker, the daughter was sitting on the sofa while she and her mother were having an argument. The victim also indicated that her mother, who weighs 220 pounds and is 5-feet-4 inches tall, jumped on her and started beating her with her fists.

The officer also documented that the daughter, whose name cannot be released at this time because she is a minor, had several deep scratches on her face and that the flesh on her left breast was bleeding as well due to having been bitten by her mother. King’s bond was set at $50,000. –torrance stephens, ph.d.
