This is one of those “you gotta be kidding me” stories that is so ridiculous and outrageous as to almost be unbelievable. Yet it actually happened.
New York Police Officer Michael Carey was one of the officers who riddled Sean Bell with bullets, killing him, on the eve of his wedding in New York. He has now actually filed a lawsuit against Bell’s estate.
Yes, you read it right. The officer who violated Bell’s rights in every manner possible and killed him after he came out of a nightclub with his buddies is now claiming in a suit that Bell drunkenly assaulted him with his car, the New York Post reports.
The Post reports that Carey’s lawsuit states that Bell was highly intoxicated when he took control of his vehicle after his bachelor party on Nov. 25, 2006. Carey also has the audacity to claim that the dead groom should have been wearing glasses or eyewear because he had poor eyesight.
I wonder if Carey is also going to file suit against the dead man’s estate for the blood and pieces of flesh that splattered on Carey after he and his cohorts emptied their clips into Bell’s lifeless body.
