The Movement, Songwriters for Jordin Sparks, Justin Bieber, Back in Studio

altJames Bunton and Corron Cole know all about persevering through tough times. The songwriting and production team known as The Movement has gone from barely being able to pay their rent to creating music with the likes of Lionel Richie, Justin Bieber and more.

“The lowest point for us was probably about five years ago. We were in between places and there was no work on the horizon. We didn’t have any money and we were just doing any and everything we could to eat. Taco Bell was our diet. You always tell yourself that it will happen but it’s hard to believe that,” says Bunton.

Eventually through hard work and lots of networking, the two started to secure placements on several major artists’ albums. The duo finds that looking back on their struggles keeps them humble and focused on making quality music.

“It motivates us because you never want to go back and it’s a celebration of what we went through. So we are still as hungry and appreciate everything and take every opportunity seriously.  We put everything on the music because if we don’t make quality records that connect, then we’re not gonna eat,” says Cole.

The duo recently finished working with Jordin Sparks and Pleasure P, now they are back in the studio with Jesse McCartney, for whom they created the 2008 hit, “Leavin’.”

Although they are focused on their music, the pair also hopes to help others realize their dreams.

“… As time goes on we want to create a movement of human rights. I am part of Amnesty International and support the Darfur movement and those things. So through our music we want to influence and help people and create a movement for those with big dreams,” says Bunton. –souleo
