Nicki Minaj Gives a Confusing Interview to ‘Billboard Magazine’

I’m not sure what to think of Nicki Minaj. On the one hand, she is a refreshing voice in a male-dominated hip-hop landscape. By her presence alone, Minaj has managed to single-handedly shine the spotlight back to the long-forgotten subculture of female emcees. For that, we appreciate her current contributions to the music. 

But then we see interviews like the one she did this past weekend with Billboard Magazine, and begin to wonder if this rising star is mentally off. Throughout the interview, Minaj jumped from accent to accent as she answered questions from live viewers. She also used the word “pause” a lot, which in turn gave us pause.
