Who said snap music is solely for male rap artists? Sassy cousins Kelci and Taylah P are here to show us how it’s done with glamour and panache. This past spring the stylish rap duo known as Vistoso Bosses — vistoso means beautiful and colorful in Spanish — released the candid mixtape, The World Would Suck Without Girls and have branded their own cheeky single, “Pretty Girl Swag.” Giving fans their a playful blend of hip-hop, pop and R&B, Vistoso Bosses are set to be the next sensation. –brandi hart
Taylah P.:
Where do you get your sense of style from?
My mom and experimenting [with] putting things together.
How many names did you consider before you chose Vistoso Bosses?
A million. We went through a period where we didn’t even have one. We did some brainstorming and wrote on a piece of paper everything that described us … [from the] food we like to eat to fragrances. We just happened to type the work gorgeous in the English to Spanish translator and vistoso came up, so we paired it [with bosses]. At the time, it was just me and Kelci … and no one to tell us what to do, so we tried it out and put the two together and it just fit.
What do you think sets you apart from other female groups?
We just do us. We focus on what we want our sound to be and what we want our look to be.
What is your dream car?
A pink Monster truck — everything with gold rims and really, really big.
What is your passion?
Acting. I still do it now, but if I wasn’t doing music, I would be doing that.
What is your astrological sign?
Sagittarius.
Kelci:
What sets you apart from other female rap artists?
We come with our own stamp. We have our own style and our way of doing music, having fun and connecting with our fans and supporters.
Who inspires you?
My family, my mother, our mothers — they were in a group together called Raw. This is where we draw our inspiration from. We come from a family of musicians … our family either does instrumentals, writes or produces

What do you think your listeners will get from your music?
Something that is personal to them. Something they could relate to. We make fun music.
What message are you sending to your fans?
All about being yourself … step out the box.
Who would you compare yourselves to male or female?
OutKast.

My mom.

Online a lot. I like Target, Juicy Couture, Betsey Johnson. I’m in the mall a lot.

Pink JEEP.
