It looks like all of the excess flesh around Charles Barkley’s throat has cut off sufficient oxygen to his sizable skull. This cranial tension could explain why the former NBA player forgot that he has publicly, repeatedly and loudly condemned LeBron for the move to Miami — and especially the ESPN show spectacle that preceded it. Barkley has been the most vocal and incessant opponent of James’ decision to leave Cleveland to create a superstar trio with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. “I thought that [LeBron’s] little one-hour special was a punk move,” he said. “I thought them [LeBron, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh] dancing around on the stage was a punk move, and I thought he should’ve stayed in Cleveland. Him joining Dwyane Wade’s team was very disappointing to me.” Well, clearly, throat thickness hasn’t impeded hate-filled words from gushing through Barkley’s lips. Appropriately named “Round Mound of Rebound” during his playing days, Barkley came close to calling James out; some people suggest he was actually questioning James’ sexuality as he kept calling him a “punk,” which is a very curious and unwise thing to do. Of course, Barkley’s tirade hasn’t stopped, though. Recently, on ESPN Radio 103.3 FM in Dallas/Fort Worth, Barkley went in on James again. “I heard about LeBron’s little tweet today that he’s remembering everybody who said anything bad about him,” Barkley said. “And he said, ‘everybody.’ Well, I want him to make sure that he puts my name on that [list].” Charles, it’s about time to cease and desist with your steady diet of Lebron James zingers. You’re clogging up the airwaves with the unhealthy portions of carbon dioxide expelled out of your mouth and it no longer serves any purpose but to expose your jealousy of James. Charles, it looks like you’re upset that James is primed to procure the championship hardware that you may have obtained had you been smart enough to make the move out of Philadelphia earlier in your career. –terry shropshire
