First there was the race-tinged tirade against potential boxing foe Manny Pacquiao. Then there was Floyd Mayweather’s mysterious excuses for not getting into the ring with the feared fighter. Now he has disappeared after allegedly beating up his girlfriend.
Is Mayweather slipping?
Las Vegas police said they are looking for boxing champion Mayweather after his former girlfriend accused him of domestic violence.
Josie Harris, the mother of his child, said the boxer attacked her on Sept. 9, according to TMZ. Harris went to Southern Hills Hospital in Las Vegas for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Las Vegas law enforcement sources say police weren’t unable to find Mayweather and are now looking for him. They want to speak to him before determining if he’ll be arrested.
In 2003, Harris accused Mayweather of punching and kicking her inside a Bentley in Vegas. Charges were filed but dismissed in 2005 after Harris testified she lied to cops because she was angry that Floyd had left her for another woman. –terry shropshire
