Fantasia was uncomfortable with the metal barriers that separated her from fans during her performance at the 19th Annual For Sisters Only at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. So after the event security would not comply with Fantasia’s request to remove the barriers, the “American Idol” winner went into the crowd and performed her medley of hits while standing on top of a table.
Introduced by her daughter, Zion, Fantasia sang “Free Yourself,” “Always On My Mind,” and her new single, “I’m Doin’ Me.”
Prior to Fantasia’s set, the crowd was taken down memory lane with performances by El DeBarge and Al B. Sure. Al B. Sure thrilled the audience while singing his hits “Off on Your Own,” and “Secret Garden.” However, the audience grew impatient as Al B. Sure went over his allotted time. Chants of “We want Fantasia” were shouted shortly before Al B. Sure’s microphone was cut off.
El DeBarge followed Al B. Sure and kept the crowd in the palm of his hands by singing his undeniable hits “I Like It,” “All This Love,” and “Love Me In a Special Way.”
For Sisters Only was hosted by V-103 and sponsored by State Farm Insurance. Along with performances, attendees enjoyed shopping, games, massages, hairstyling and fitness tips. –amir shaw
