‘Rolling Out’ Names Gerald A. Radford Editor-in-Chief

Rolling out, the nation’s leading urban entertainment and lifestyle publication, has named Gerald A. Radford, editor-in-chief. The announcement was made by Mr. Munson Steed, Founder and CEO of rolling out, a division of Steed Media Group. Rolling out is a national publication with local distribution in more than 19 major cities around the U.S. Readers can view content both in the weekly print format or in real-time by visiting www.rollingout.com.

As editor-in-chief, Mr. Radford is based at the company’s Atlanta headquarters and oversees day-to-day operations of rolling out’s print and online properties. These duties include the oversight of all content development, editorial direction, publication production, front cover layouts and celebrity photo shoots. Mr. Radford will act as a liaison between rolling out and the business and entertainment industries, as well as the community-at-large, which rolling out has informed and served for nearly a decade.

Mr. Radford joined rolling out this past January as manager of online content and was quickly promoted to managing editor within weeks of his arrival. By the summer of 2010, he was promoted to editor-in-chief. “We look forward to working closely with Mr. Radford whose qualifications are impeccable,” says Mr. Steed. “Gerald’s commitment to moving rolling out into the digital space as a premier news and original content site will only take the next generation of Steed Media executives to higher levels of success. His knowledge and experience in the music industry will continue to keep us on the cutting-edge of pop culture.”

Mr. Radford, a native of Louisville, Ky, earned his baccalaureate degree at Eastern Kentucky University. He earned his master’s degree in business administration at Keller Graduate School in Atlanta. Prior to joining rolling out, Radford served at the Electronic Urban Report/RadioScope, based in Los Angeles. While at the EUR, he worked in a number of capacities, including copy editor, web sales specialist and contributing writer. As a journalist he covered and interviewed many of today’s top celebrities including Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Quincy Jones among a host of others.

During the mid-2000s, Mr. Radford was copy chief and music editor for Industry Status Magazine, based in Atlanta. Prior to going to Industry Status Magazine he worked at a number of music-related companies such as Capitol Records, J Records/BMG Distribution, Tower Records and as a contributing writer for the Urban Network magazine. “I am ecstatic about the opportunity provided to me at rolling out,” says Mr. Radford. “Mr. Steed and the staff of rolling out have embraced me from the moment I arrived. I believe the future is now, as we continue to take the publication to even greater heights.”
