The airwaves are abuzz at the speculation of one of Chicago’s favorite sons possible candidacy for Mayor of the Windy City. Syndicated radio personality, attorney and activist, Warren Ballentine, host of The Warren Ballentine Show recently became the latest rumored candidate in Chicago’s mayoral race.
Banter sparked initially by his listeners and supporters led to more serious conversation about his political ambitions after Ballentine admittedly became fed up with the ongoing issues currently plaguing the city.
The Chicago-born media pundit most known for his talk show and community advocacy shares, “After years of seeing the senseless killings, shortage of jobs, poor education and a serious lack of listening to the people of Chicago, I decided that I needed to strongly consider how I can play a larger role in finding solutions for my hometown.”
Although Ballentine has not publicly declared whether he is in fact running for mayor, he is expected to be a formidable candidate in an already crowded field, should he decide to run.
Ballentine’s spokeswoman, Nikki Barjon, confirmed that Ballentine has not formally announced his plans, but that a communications team has put together an exploratory committee for his possible mayoral run.
