Will.i.am Will Rock Your World, Literally
“Oh My God!” is probably what you’re thinking when you look at the mile long list of hit songs that
Will.i.am has created. Responsible for numerous chart toppers from the likes of Usher, Black Eyed Peas,
and even several songs on Michael Jackson’s posthumous album, Will.i.am is poised to be one the best
pop producers in the world and he was honored with the highest accolade possible at the BMI Urban
Awards in Los Angeles.
And speaking of Los Angeles, who would of thought that the eccentric rapper that we know today as
Will.i.am was discovered by non other than NWA’s Eazy E, back when he was just a teenager! Not only
a talented artist and renowned producer, William has also played his hand at acting in “XMen Origins:
Wolverine” and the animated cartoon “Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa”. Also a well known political
activist whom fully supports the Obama Administration (and wrote a song about it) one has to ask
themselves, what doesn’t this man do?
Will.i.am Is Rocking Our World, Literally
Responsible for numerous chart toppers for the likes of Usher,
Black Eyed Peas, and even several songs on Michael Jackson’s posthumous album, will.i.am’s
contributions to music were recognized with
the highest accolade possible at the BMI Urban Awards: the BMI President’s
Award.
Ray J Isn’t Going Down Without a
Fight
R&B singer Ray J probably never dreamed that he would be co-hosting the
BMI Urban Awards. Brandy’s baby brother’s profile has risen with his hit reality show “For the
Love of Ray J” (which was renewed for a second season) and a few catchy
radio singles like “Sexy Can I” and “143.” Ray J is definitely demonstrating that he’s in this fight till the finish.
Watch Out, Pleasure P Is
Gunnin’ for Your Woman
Dominating the red carpet at the BMI Awards with his silver-studded letterman jacket, the former member of the now
disassembled boy group “Pretty Ricky,” was more than happy to dish about his
upcoming projects.
Master P Say’s It’s Time to ‘Break
‘Em Off Somethin’
At 43, the former “Ice Cream Man”
of his New Orleans ‘hood, Master P, aka Percy Miller and P. Miller, would
certainly agree that it’s nothing less than a blessing to be standing on the red
carpet with his family at the 10th annual BMI Awards. Having ranked
10th on Forbes magazine’s 1998 list
of America’s 40 highest-paid entertainers, with an estimated income of $56.5
million, Master P might be the most underrated
entrepreneur in hip-hop.
Soul Music Takeover: Anthony
Hamilton Has the Master Plan
Looking quite dapper and
(uncharacteristically clean shaven) on the BMI Awards red carpet, it was
nice to see a true soul singer representing for the fans that still appreciate
real R&B music.
With his platinum-selling album Comin’ From Where I’m From, numerous Grammy nominations, and a feature on the
blockbuster American Gangster
soundtrack, Hamilton is positioning himself for a musical takeover.
