‘Waiting for Superman’

'Waiting for Superman'

Utter heartbreak and intense confusion are the only words to describe the inner turmoil experienced while watching the astoundingly educational documentary, Waiting For Superman.

Rolling out  was one of the few media outlets afforded the opportunity to attend the advance screening of this phenomenal film at the famous Arclight Theatre in Hollywood, Calif. Created by Oscar- winning filmmaker Davis Guggenheim, who was responsible for the global warming documentary An Inconvenient Truth, Waiting puts the unsettling realities of our nation’s failing school system under the microscope.

Waiting for Superman profiles several different school districts; some successful, some faltering. Testimonials from struggling students were used as case studies to chronicle the almost impossible process that parents face when seeking a better education for their children. And as the film demonstrates, that problem is not just relegated to blighted urban areas. 'Waiting for Superman'Studies of schools from all over the country confirmed that even students who live in suburban and middle class areas are being undereducated.
'Waiting for Superman'This film was riveting, sensational, and downright sad and it opened my eyes to a national epidemic
that has not received the attention that it deserves. –marqueta smith

Waiting for Superman opened in select theaters Friday, Sept. 24.
