Birther Makes Movie About Obama Being Ineligible for Presidency

alt

The Tea Party is at it again. Brent Bateman, a former reporter, is putting the final touches on a movie about President Barack Obama. However, this is no ordinary documentary because the movie is about Obama being ineligible to serve as the president of the United States.

Yes, a birther movie. From his Web site (Quad City Pictures), one can see a brief trailer as well as purchase what he calls “Fraudgear.” Originally from Chicago, it is easy to assume Bateman has a problem with blacks, because he calls Oprah Winfrey, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant “false gods.” He also writes that “Barack and Michelle Obama have single-handedly pushed back race relations in America more than a hundred years.”

In an interview Bateman states that he came up with the idea after speaking with a group of Hillary Clinton supporters. The film, titled Fraud, is about how Obama and the federal government were complicit in the cover up of getting someone elected who’s not legally able to hold office.”

The film refutes the fact that the president is a “natural born” citizen by arguing that he can only be a naturalized citizen. Bateman even suggests that the president was not a professor of law at the University of Illinois in Chicago.

It is obvious that many people are not pleased with the current president and the fact is that some of those objections are based entirely on Obama’s race, name and ethnic heritage. This movie is basically just another attempt to discredit the president and rewrite history. Unfortunately, the uninformed and zealots of the right wing will take the film’s allegations at face value and accept it as fact. –torrance stephens, ph.d.
