An old-school Memphis man got so irate over a teen wearing his pants below the behind that he got into an argument with him — and then he snapped and shot the boy in the butt.
This is a true story.
Kenneth E Bonds, 45, caught an eyeful of underwear on a couple of teens as they duck-walked through a southeast Memphis neighborhood. We guess Bonds had seen one too many sagging pants and the sight finally broiled his brain.
At first, he tried to admonish the boys to pull their pants up at maximum volume, according to an arrest document. Memphis police Sgt. Ron Perry said the teens took great exception to being put on blast and refused to comply with Bonds’ demands.
The three began arguing in the street before Bonds brandished a semi-automatic pistol and threatened to shoot the teens, says the Memphis Commercial Appeal newspaper.
Perry says Bonds fired off several shot and hit one of the teens as the two boys raced away. The teen victim’s wounds were not critical and the other boy was not injured.
The Commerical Appeal says it is not clear if Bonds had a lawyer. But the high-minded Bonds would have to seek a high bond to get out.
