McDonald’s Hits the Road to Celebrate ‘Real Moments, Real Fruit’ McCafé

altTo bolster excitement for its latest real fruit smoothie menu addition, McDonald’s recently launched the Smoothie Fusion Tour. Featured on the McCafé tour bus, the fruity treat will be taken into communities where customers will have a first-hand experience with what the fast food chain hopes will be their new first love.

“This is a product McDonald’s has never had before, but the response has been off the charts,” said Kurt Holloway, a Houston franchise owner.

The tour’s leg around Houston began by stopping at the Houston Texans’ training camp to serve up samples of the cool treat. The McCafé bus later spread the smoothie goodness at the International Jazz Festival for Youth in Discovery Green Park, where families got to participate in the taste bud test.

There are currently two flavors being offered, strawberry banana and wild berry. Holloway shared that the headliner thus far has been the strawberry banana (it’s also his personal favorite).alt

Holloway and his wife have over 60 years experience combined with being a part of the McDonald’s family and say this is the most phenomenal launch they’ve experienced to date.

“A 35-city tour across the nation,” Holloway said excitedly. “We’re so proud Houston is the first stop along the way.”

The International Jazz Fest stop was certainly a success. McDonald’s was thrilled to be a part of a movement that educates today’s children on the value of music.

“There is a common thread here, that being the importance of our youth, which is one of our most valuable assets,” Holloway said.

McDonald’s maintains its stance on the importance of education by offering scholarships and job opportunities to students. Holloway said both the efforts of the International Jazz Festival and McDonald’s help African American youth.

“It educates, elevates and motivates them and that’s invaluable to us,” he said.

The real fruit smoothies are now available at participating locations. Look out for a McCafé berry bus in your city. – callye peyrovi
