Barack Obama got the book thrown at him — for real. An unknown assailant threw a book at President Obama’s head at a rally in Philadelphia Sunday. The president was oblivious to the flying projectile as it sailed toward him at the rally’s conclusion. The title of the book and the justification for the blatant display of disrespect is unknown as of press time.
Also, a man was arrested at the same rally after streaking naked as a part of a $1 million dare by a social media tycoon.
“It is not clear if the man was involved in the book throwing incident or why he was not wearing any clothes,” writes Britain’s The Daily Mail.
The newspaper noted that in “August a wacky billionaire [Alki David, a shipping and bottling magnate] offered $1 million to the first person who streaks in front of our U.S. President. He promised to pay out the cash providing the streaker writes the name of his Web site Battlecam across their chest [which the man did].”
The billionaire should also be apprehended and charged with a federal offense for soliciting someone to commit a crime. Parading naked in public is against the law, but to do so in front of the president of the United States should elevate the crime, along with the intention to create a disturbance.
The incident reminds Americans of the embarrassing incident involving President George W. Bush in Baghdad when a man brandished a shoe and threw it at him. Bush ducked and the man was charged with a high crime. –terry shropshire
UPDATE: The book thrower wasn’t lodging a complaint about anything, he just wanted the president to read his book; next time, get a publicist, buddy.
