Michael Jackson’s Family to Appear on Oprah: Brother Randy Opposes

Michael Jackson’s Family to Appear on Oprah: Brother Randy OpposesThe younger brother of the late Michael Jackson, Randy, is outraged that members of the family have agreed to appear on Oprah Winfrey’s show and has funneled his rage through Twitter.

Randy believes that Oprah went out of her way to use her vast international influence to poison the jury in the Michael Jackson molestation trial by hosting a show about pedophilia during jury deliberations. There was no love lost between Oprah and Michael before he passed away in June 2009.

It is true that Oprah was never sympathetic to Michael and let her disdain for the pop megastar be known. Oprah insinuated several times in not-so-subtle words that she believed the King of Pop was guilty of committing sexual crimes against children. MJ, of course, was acquitted of any wrongdoing.

But now Oprah wants to have Michael’s mother, Katherine, and his surviving children on the show. Randy exploded upon hearing the news and believes that Michael would never have given permission for his children to be near Oprah after the damage she helped heap on his image.

“That was no coincidence,” Randy tweeted. “She is the last person on earth [Michael] would want around his children.” Randy says he had no idea the Oprah interview was going to take place and thinks his parents made a bad mistake, reports TMZ.

Randy seems to be one of the few level-headed siblings in the Jackson clan. Randy replaced Jermaine in the group when the Jackson Five left Motown for CBS Records, forming the Jacksons. Randy and Michael formed a potent songwriting duo when the two lived at home with the family as teenagers, writing such hits as “Shake Your Body Down to the Ground” and several others. After Michael’s death, Randy refused to have any affiliation with the reality show that his four remaining brothers agreed to be in. It aired late last year. –terry shropshire
