After a period when it looked like a pregnant Alicia Keys was ready to pop, she finally delivered her first child with Swizz Beatz.
According to her rep, the prolific singer-songwriter gave birth Thursday night in her New York hometown to a baby boy, Egypt Dean. It’s the first baby for the 29-year-old multiplatinum Keys and the fourth for Beatz.
After a very controversial and contentious courtship with Keys and divorce from his first wife, the man born Kaseem Dean married Keys in the South of France on July 31. He tweeted about the overwhelming love he and his newlywed wife have received since word of the birth broke:
“I’m so thankful for everything I been blessed with in my life wowwwwww!”
Singer Mary J. Blige also reportedly tweeted her congratulations on the birth.
