Jay-Z’s Artist, Melanie Fiona, Receives Top Honor at ASCAP Event

Grammy-nominated singer Melanie Fiona (“It Kills Me,” “Give it to Me Right”) receives top honors at the Second Annual ASCAP Presents. .. Women Behind The Music Series. The Roc Nation siren tells the World Entertainment News Network (WENN), “It feels so great. I don’t ever expect anything, I don’t know what’s gonna happen, I just got to do what I think is good and right for me as an artist, and it’s overwhelming to see my name Grammy nominated for something I didn’t even expect to happen so early on in my career and now this ASCAP honor. I must be doing something right!”

She was bestowed a special glass trophy by by Nicole George, ASCAP’s vice president of membership, rhythm and soul. Other honorees included RCA Music Group/Sony Music Entertainment’s senior vice president of marketing, Carolyn Williams, and entertainment attorney Motisola Zulu.
