Danroy Henry Jr. was looking to enjoy Pace University’s homecoming with several of his teammates and college friends at a restaurant close to his school’s campus.

But after a run-in with local law enforcement in Westchester County, Henry’s life ended before the celebration began.

According to the police report, officers approached Henry’s car shortly after midnight on Oct 17. Henry apparently attempted to drive away from the police officer and hit one police officer and pinned him against the hood. Two officers then drew their weapons and began to fire into Henry’s car. The 20 year-old sophomore died at the scene. Henry was unarmed.

But contrary to the police reports, several witnesses have come forward to say that Henry thought the police officer was asking him to move out of the line of fire before police began shooting.
