Young Money juggernaut Nicki Minaj, whose highly anticipated album is about to drop next month, has denied she that fired Sean “Diddy” Combs for what media reported as “mismanagement” and lack of “guidance.“
Gossip blogs were on fire claiming that Minaj has hired renowned Benny Medina, who, ironically, was formerly Diddy’s manager. Medina is known as the former manager for A-list musicians including Usher, Jennifer Lopez and Brandy. A frustrated Minaj said she feels she is being managed by “mother” instead of a “record manager.” This would have been Minaj’s third manager in seven months as she fired Waka Flocka Flame‘s mother earlier this year.
HipHopDX claimed that she sent this statement to them confirming her break from Diddy, who has developed a reputation for mismanaging and exploiting his acts, including Mase, Yung Joc and others:
“By now, everyone should now that I am really strict when it comes to my representation,” Minaj said in a statement obtained by HipHopDX. “I had sympathy for [Diddy], however I feel as if I haven’t gotten the guidance the manager is supposed to give his client. Personally, I feel like I’m being managed by [my] mother. Even if you play the smallest role on my team, I wish to see progress. I’d like to thank him for everything he has done for me; for taking me under his wing. I wish him the best with repping Rick [Ross]. But now that my album is about to drop, it’s time to get serious and stop playing games.”
Minaj has now come out vehemently refuting the rumors of the breakup from Combs, claiming that “all is good.” The Cash Money queen says she has never even met Medina much less sought out his services. Minaj‘s debut CD, Pink Friday, is scheduled to drop on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving.
