Lil Wayne Released From Jail; 4 Behavioral Changes That Will Keep Him Out of Prison

Two days after T.I. began serving his 11-month sentence, Lil Wayne was  released from Rikers Island after serving eight months for having a loaded gun on a tour bus.

Lil Wayne spent his last month in jail in solitary confinement for having an MP3 player, which is considered contraband.

Cash Money Records and his family will throw Lil Wayne a coming home party in Miami.

But with rappers such as T.I. and Gucci Mane finding themselves back in trouble with the law after serving prison sentences, Lil Wayne will have to change his behavior if he hopes to buck the trend and remain free.

Here are four things that Lil Wayne must do to remain free. –a.r.

Stay Away from Weed, Pills and Syrup – Lil Wayne often raps about his fondness for marijuana, pills and syrup. But his handlers should do whatever they can to make sure he stays away from illegal drugs. T.I. and his Grand Hustle company stand to lose millions because of his 11-month sentence.

Eliminate the Entourage – It’s common for rappers to hang with 20 or more of their homeboys. But Lil Wayne is a grown man with kids who should no longer feel the need to travel with dozens of dudes who are only along for the ride. If one of Lil Wayne’s homeboys breaks the law, it will only bring more negativity to his situation.

Stay Away From Guns – There is no reason for Lil Wayne to have to walk the streets with a gun. With his success, he has enough money to hire a security company to provide around the clock protection for him and his family.

Treat His Business Like a Business – Most musicians are free spirits. But Lil Wayne is a multimillion dollar artist who needs to conduct himself like a businessman. It’s not a coincidence that Drake, Lil Wayne’s artist on Young Money, has already secured major endorsement deals while Lil Wayne has yet to be called upon to promote a major product. Lil Wayne has accomplished a lot as a musician, but he could accomplish much more if he would position himself to be taken seriously by corporate America.
