Jose Dickerson of Adidas Originals Store Discusses How the Brand Embraces Hip-Hop and the Biggest Sale Ever

Jose Dickerson has been a part of the retail business for over 20 years. During his tenure as the general manager of the adidas Originals store in Atlanta, Dickerson has helped to move the brand forward by hosting innovative events that embrace hip-hop culture and originality. Dickerson spoke with rolling out about his innovative marketing tactics and provided insight on the store’s upcoming tent sale.

Why is it important for the adidas Originals store to always have a fresh approach to connecting with its customers?
I’m into the hip-hop culture and I embrace all of those elements with this store. I put a good team together that is marketing savvy. So we make it a point to go out to different events around the city to brand ourselves. We identify with hip-hop culture, but we also celebrate originality. If you skateboard, surf, break dance, or do art, we have some things to complement your personality.

What innovative events does the store put on to appeal to its audience?
We have art shows, break dancers, and deejays are in the store on Saturdays. We don’t limit ourselves. We are a part of new ideas that continue to help our brand.

What makes your collection original?
For ladies, we sell complete classic suits and inventory from our AO39 line, which is our exclusive line that is only available at the adidas Originals store. We also have skirts, dresses, blouses and sweaters. For men, we have classic suits, caps, reversible vests, sweats, and exclusive shoes that are only available at this store, such as the Jeremy Scott shoes and clothing.

Get your holiday shopping done early at the first ever adidas Originals Tent Sale. Footwear, apparel and accessories will be deeply discounted up to 75 percent off at the Lenox Square Mall store, located at 3393 Peachtree Road/Valet Parking Lot, from Nov. 11–15. –a.r.
