Pittsburgh emcee Wiz Khalifa will be featured on an upcoming cover of rolling out. Currently on the Wake and Bake Tour, Wiz took time out for an exclusive photo shoot. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look. –a.r.
3:30 p.m. – Wiz arrives at Hannibal Matthews’ photo studio with his manager Benji Greenberg and several members of his entourage. He does 15 minutes of grooming and prepares for his first photo look.
3:45 p.m. – Photographer Hannibal Matthews and I explain the concepts of the first photo look. Like a seasoned pro, Wiz provides distinctive poses and facial expressions as each photo is snapped.
4:15 p.m. – For the second photo look, Wiz sits on a silver low-rider bike with two bandanas that pay homage to his favorite colors, black and yellow.
4:30 p.m. – He takes off his shirt to showcase dozens of tattoos that cover his body. He holds a Pittsburgh Steelers rally towel, known as the “Terrible Towel.”
4:45 p.m. – Wiz sits down with members of rolling out’s editorial staff and discusses Pittsburgh’s hip-hop scene, his business endeavors, the meaning of his tattoos, his love for Chuck Taylor sneakers, realizing stardom, and waiting for the perfect record deal.
