'Sister 2 Sister’s' 22nd Anniversary Party Feat. Tiny, Toya, Kandi Burruss, Tyler Perry StudiosJamie Foster Brown and Sister 2 Sister magazine’s 22nd anniversary gala got the ATL revved up to a higher gear with A-list entertainers and industry icons on the eve of the Soul Train Music Awards.

The celebrity-rich red carpet and the pink-powered awards party inside the grandiose Twelve hotel in Midtown Atlanta featured hosts Kandi Burruss from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, and also included Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, Antonia “Toya” Carter, Keyshia Cole’s mom Frankie, Jermaine Dupri, Jazze Pha, Tyler Perry Studios’ Roger Bobb, Rainforest Films’ Will Packer, Lisa Wu Hartwell, Derek J, Genuwine, super-songwriter Sean Garrett, Eric Bonet, Tamia and many others.


During the evening’s awards ceremony and dinner, Foster Brown bestowed some deserved love to the music and movie masters who have helped shape the course of entertainment in the modern era. Mathew Knowles, father of interplanetary megastar Beyoncé, received the Iconic Empire Builder award as the president and CEO of Music World Entertainment Inc. Roger Bobb, the executive vice president and producer at Tyler Perry Studios, was given the Uber-Producer Award for a string of movies — including For Colored Girls in theaters now — as well as the TBS television shows “House of Payne” and “Meet the Browns.” Will Packer and Rob Hardy of Rainforest Films, who made the box-office hit Takers starring Idris Elba, T.I., Chris Brown, Michael Ealy and Paul Walker, took home the You Knocked it Out the Park award. Stephen Hill of BET was awarded the Maverick Music Producer award while Paxton Baxter received the Network Architect award.

altTiffany Evans and Genuwine commandeered the stage to sing a couple of songs then old school trio SWV bathed Foster Brown in some serious harmonies. After choreographer Andrea Kelly ripped it with an electric dance number, Foster Brown allowed her Sister 2 Sister staff to get some shine before introducing her husband, Lorenzen Brown.
