Birdman dove his tattooed self right into the middle of the Nicki Minaj-Lil Kim feud and took a few yanks at Kim’s extensions in the process.
Minaj’s label boss, Cash Money’s Birdman, ripped into rival Lil Kim, saying that she was asking for it when she got her manicured toes stepped on via Minaj’s new song. Many people believe that Minaj’s new single with Eminem, “Roman’s Revenge,” was directed at Lil Kim.
“Real talk, but maybe Kim asked for it. Usually we don’t try to make money like that … that’s not our theory. We make great music. We have never been the type to make songs about motherf—–s,” he told Vibe. “I think Nicki is speaking in general, not just to Kim personally. A lot of motherf—–s have been hating on her success. To me, they are all asking for it. I don’t think any of them has as talented a clique as Nicki. We [are] a movement.”
Even 50 Cent joined the fray, tweeting that the song is dope, but warned Minaj that Lil Kim is going to come after her for it.
“I just heard that em nikki joint good s—. I know kim tight. Lol, she gonna ride on her and ’em.”
If you’re keeping score at home, you’d have to say: advantage, Lil Kim. If anything, the ongoing linguistic war between Minaj and Kim via Twitter and the airwaves has helped Lil Kim resurface in the news and remain relevant long past her prime.
