Keri Hilson and Wale Headline 'Remix The Runway' in Chicago

One of the largest fashion shows in the Midwest took place on Sunday, Nov. 14 at the Harris Theater in Chicago. Hosted by comedian Lil Rel, Remix the Runway featured dozens of inspiring models who wore new apparel from Diesel 7 For All Mankind, Palladium, Parish, Pelle Pelle, True Religion, Orisue, Lacoste and Rocawear.

DJ Vince Adams and DJ D-Nice spun on the one’s and two’s and Jim Jones, Jeremih, Wale and Keri Hilson performed.

Co-creator Nate Gilbert spoke about the event and how it helps up-and-coming models gain national exposure. “Remix the Runway’ is like ‘America’s Next Top Model’ combined with ‘American Idol,’ ” Gilbert says. “We did an on-air casting and  received over one thousand submissions from around the nation. We picked the top 50 girls and 50 guys and narrowed it down to the top 20. We then let our listeners vote for the top 10 who were featured on Remix the Runway. When we did online voting the first year, it shut down Power 92’s Web site along with two other Web sites. When that happened, we knew we had created something special. Remix the Runway gIves aspiring models the opportunity to be on stage with some of the biggest names in fashion.” a.r.
