Maybe it is a sign of the times. A truck dealership is running a special promotion, offering a free AK-47 with the purchase of a used truck. Nations Trucks of Sanford, Fla., started the promotion on Veterans Day in an effort to sell more trucks.
The dealership’s general manager, Nick Ginetta, says the promotion will run through the end of November.
Any buyer who purchases a truck will be given a $400 voucher to use at a local gun store. All customers will have to go through the regular application process for purchasing a firearm and will have to comply with state and federal laws. If customers do not wish to purchase a gun, they will be given the option to take the cash.
Although controversial, the promotion has been working. Last week, the company had 47 appointments scheduled in one day when normally they have about three per day. The dealership has received some complaints about the promotion, but not enough to end it. –torrance stephens
