WTH?! 20-Year-Old 11th Grader Charged With Murder

WTH?! 20-Year-Old 11th Grader Charged With MurderIn Pennsylvania, Reading police arrested 20-year-old, Keenan McMaster. Believe it or not, McMaster was in the 11th grade at Reading High School.

He was arrested for the murder of 19-year-old Jason Rodriguez, Wednesday, Nov. 24. According to police, Rodriguez was shot at point blank range. McMaster was identified from a photo lineup.

Ironically, Rodriguez was also a student at Reading High School.

Rodriguez was going to marry his girlfriend the day after Thanksgiving. Berks County District Attorney John Adams stated that McMaster has an extensive criminal record in the state of New York and that he was involved in a long-standing dispute with Rodriguez. Rodriguez was the father of a 6-month-old boy, Jason Jr., and had two classes to complete before graduating from Reading High in the winter.

McMaster is charged with criminal homicide, first-degree murder, third-degree murder, aggravated assault and possession of instruments of a crime. The DA has not decided if the county will seek the death penalty in this case.

In April of last year, McMaster grabbed a man in Staten Island, N.Y., and punched him in the face, then pulled a gun and pistol-whipped him during an attempted robbery.

At the time of his arrest, McMaster was on school property filling out paperwork because he had been suspended. He was arrested by school officers without incident and no other students were in the building. He is awaiting arraignment.
