Have you ever heard the phrase “Everyone’s a comedian.” Well that’s not necessarily true, but there is plenty of comedy to go around in New York, which prompted the CEO of Bonner Entertainment, Trevor Bonner to create “Comedy Spillage.”

I recently sat down with Bonner to find out exactly what Comedy Spillage is and the impact it has on the community, during which Bonner explained that Bonerfield Entertainment uses comedy as a platform to bring people together for quality entertainment, and thusly, produces a series or “overflow” of comedy shows, ergo the series’ title “Comedy Spillage.”

I can attest that after seeing the last show put on by the organization, they’re on to something. I experienced an evening of gut busting, stomach holding, and cheek aching, funny-as-heck entertainment, which, as they say, is certainly “good for the soul.”  Whether it’s a skit, dancers or stand up comedy, one can expect to be thoroughly entertained.

The shows are held at one of New York City’s best kept secrets, Slate (on 21st Street between 5th and 6th Avenues), which serves as the perfect backdrop for what I now consider “the show of all comedy shows.”  And to add to an already well-received idea by comedy-loving New Yorkers, Bonnerfied Entertainment also takes the opportunity to promote awareness of various charitable organizations and the importance of health and fitness through ‘Spillage.’

Mark your calendars, because the next show will be held Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 at Slate, featuring comics such as Mugga, Capone, David Foster, and A.G. White.  Stay tuned to rollingout.com for an interview with Comedy Spillage headliner, Capone, who will discuss the key to timing and delivering a good joke.
