The first episode of season two of “Basketball Wives” aired Sunday, Dec. 12 on VH1. There is more drama, excitement, backstabbing, and fun in the sun in Miami. The wives, former wives and ex-girlfriends of NBA players are back at it again!
Shaunie O’Neal (ex-wife of Shaquille O’Neal), the creator of the show, is back with her friends; Evelyn Lozada (ex-fiancée of Antoine Walker), Suzie Ketcham (former girlfriend of Michael Olowokondi), Royce Reed (former girlfriend of Dwight Howard), Jennifer Williams (wife of Eric Williams), minus Gloria Govan (fiancée of Matt Barnes).
Govan’s replacement is Tami Roman, who made a name for herself on the cast of “Real World.“ She married NBA player Kenny Anderson and she certainly has the personality to cause a stir on what is shaping up to be an exciting season for “Basketball Wives.”
There is one additional cast member, Ashley Walker, (girlfriend of former NBA player Rafer Alston). Walker is a mother of two, an entrepreneur, philanthropist and a fitness guru. She recently fulfilled a dream of traveling to Kenya to feed the children there with her charity, Mission of Love. As a former teacher, Walker’s passion is working with children, so she adopted a school and plans to provide a daily meal for each of the 500 students for an entire year. By launching a special lip gloss by Lamik , and new bronzer, she intends for all of the proceeds to benefit her Mission of Love foundation.
Since meeting the love of her life, Rafer Alston, a former Miami Heat and Orlando Magic player, the New Orleans native has had to endure the many trials of living the celebrity lifestyle but she is ready for the challenges that may come her way. –christa e. jackson
