Charles Barkley called out Fox News reporter Tucker Carlson for the hateful statement that he made regarding Michael Vick a few weeks ago.
While serving as the guest host on “The Sean Hannity Show,” Carlson suggested that Michael Vick should have been executed for dogfighting.
Barkley responded to Carlson’s rant by saying, “There’s some idiot on another station named Tucker Carlson, who called out Michael Vick. Tucker Carlson, who’s a nobody. He used to work for us over here. We fired him because he sucked. He said Michael Vick should be executed, which is total BS. TV is very powerful and you can’t just get on the TV and say anything.”
Although Carlson backtracked from his statement, it’s important for politicians and TV analysts to use less vitriol in in their comments.
In the wake of the assassination attempt on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., and the accusations that Sarah Palin may have incited the gunman, we all have witnessed how irresponsible words can have a tragic effect on innocent lives. –a.r.
