Drake and Trey Songz Plan Changes for 2011: How to Really Achieve It

Drake and Trey Songz Plan Changes for 2011: How to Really Achieve ItPeople all over the world typically make resolutions, or promises, to start or stop something on New Year’s. The most popular New Year’s resolutions are to manage debt, lose weight, quit smoking, drink less alcohol, volunteer to help others, save money, take a trip, and get a better job. What change do celebrities want in 2011?

Oprah’s BFF, Gayle King, said she wants “to be better organized.”

Kim Kardashian said, “I want to try to be single my whole year of being 30.”

Drake said his resolution is to call his mother and grandmother more.

Trey Songz said, “My New Year’s resolution is to stay true to myself.”

People want to change, especially at New Year’s, but no matter who you are, change is difficult. The problem is that most people fail to maintain or even begin their promised transformation because they don’t have the proper motivation. Most of us either don’t know our motivation or how it affects us, and being unaware makes change, especially permanent transformation, almost impossible.

If you have unsuccessfully tried to change a particular behavior, the problem is that you must know what is driving the behavior in order to overcome it. The issue is usually that most of our lives are out of balance. We are too much of one thing and not enough of the other. Excessive behaviors, procrastination or lack of consistency are trademarks of a life out of balance.

To bring your life back into balance, start by identifying what motivator (body, mind, heart or spirit) drives most of your behavior. For instance, people who approach most situations emotionally, getting upset or frustrated, will have a difficult time with boundaries and moderation. People who, on the other hand, look at most situations logically, will get hung up on how things “should” or “must” work rather than approaching each situation distinctly or empathetically.

Identifying what can and does drive you, puts you in control, not life’s circumstances and other people. This means that you understand exactly what triggers your behavior. Knowing this, you should be ready and able to make real change today and every day. –annette johnson
