NBA star Dwyane Wade is currently living the life that I secretly want. Not only is he a member of one of the league’s most compelling teams, but he’s also bumping uglies with one of Hollywood’s sexiest stars (Hello Gabrielle Union.) But all of that fabulous living took a backseat when Wade was questioned about the rampant trade speculation circling his friend and former Team USA teammate Carmelo Anthony.
Melo, whose currently embroiled in daily Knicks and Nets trade scenarios, can take solace in he the fact that his friends feel his pain. Here are a few of the “Nuggets” (see what I did there) that Wade had to offer the Denver star.
On his compassion for Carmelo’s situation …
I’m sure Melo is more tired of it than anybody. But it’s just to the point, as a sports fan, you’re just, ‘All right, it’s just enough.’
On his belief that Carmelo is getting tired of the trade talk …
“He seems like now he’s getting to the point where he’s fed up with it, he’s tired of hearing about it, he just wants to focus on basketball,” Wade said. “It’s not really bothering him as much as it was at certain points although no matter what kind of game he has, people are going to say something if he doesn’t score 30.”
On the advice that he’s given to Carmelo …
“The biggest thing you can tell a guy like that is ask him to make sure he’s doing fine mentally.”
While Carmelo awaits his trade fate, it’s good to see that he’s at least in good spirits judging by his Michael Jackson moves in the video below. –djr
