Michael Vick Signs First Endorsement Deal Since Jail; Why Major Corporations Should Follow Suit

Michael Vick has finally been given an opportunity to endorse products again. Vick has signed a two-year contract with Unequal Technologies to promote the company’s football pads.

Since being released from prison in 2009 after serving 28 months on dogfighting charges, major companies have hesitated to sign Vick to an endorsement deal. Before his legal troubles, Vick endorsed dozens of products and was a leading endorser for Nike.

However, Vick lost all of his deals after his conviction.

Vick has since regained his spot as one of the top NFL players and was even in the running to become the NFL’s MVP.

Other major companies should follow Unequal Technologies’ lead and consider signing Vick to an endorsement deal. Along with his return to grace on the field, Vick has become an advocate against animal cruelty. He has talked to teens across the nation and shared his story so others won’t make the same mistakes. Although some will never forgive Vick, his comeback stands as a testament to how anyone can be redeemed after experiencing a misstep in life. –amir shaw
