Well, it appears that someone has pissed off the world’s most famous boss. That happened when superstar Rihanna blew off an appearance at a fundraiser sponsored by Donald Trump, only to magically recover in time to perform at Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game.
The performance was supposed to take place at Trump’s private Palm Beach club, Mar-a-Lago, where Rihanna was reportedly to be paid 500,000 to perform at a popular fundraiser for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
When Rihanna fell ill, Trump called in Jennifer Hudson to replace her. From the tone of Trump’s comments in the aftermath, it sounds like he’s upset with Rihanna, but happy with the decision he made.
“I thought that [Rihanna bailing] was insulting to everyone,” Trump said. “But for Rihanna to go to the [NBA] All-Star game and perform after she told us she was sick, that is just a lack of respect. But, nothing was missed. Jennifer’s a beautiful girl. She came on her day off even though she performs almost every night. She is an unbelievable talent, and her voice is better.”
Ouch. Well, let’s assume that she won’t be getting a call from Trump anytime soon to perform. Rihanna, you’re fired! –djr
