Grammy nominee Eric Roberson was all smiles at Friday’s Grammy Social Media Rock Star Summit. The talented singer-songwriter is up for his second Grammy nomination, and shared his thoughts leading up to Sunday’s big day.
His description of the energy surrounding the Grammys…
I don’t even think that I can describe how exciting this process is leading up to the actual show. This city is alive, and there’s something to do at every moment. The key is just to relax and soak in everything. This is the time of year where you realize that your year’s worth of work has paid off.
What the Grammys mean to him…
It’s really a celebration for me and my staff. This shows us that the hard work is paying off, and that we are on the right track. It also makes us hungrier, and makes us want to work harder to stay consistent so we can be back here next year, and the year after that.
How social media has impacted his music…
I’ve watched my company grow as a result of social media. I remember when we first started putting albums out, we didn’t have any of this. But now with Twitter, Facebook and a host of other avenues, we are able to reach fans in a way that we didn’t initially think was possible.
Who he will thank if he wins…
I would of course thank God. That’s first and foremost. Then I would thank my wife, my son and my entire family. After that, I would thank my staff and everyone at my company that worked hard for this. It was a team effort, so there are so many people that deserve recognition. I said I was going to write something down, because I could get up there and forget to mention my mom.
What he will do if he loses…
If I lose, we will still be celebrating. I just feel blessed to make it to this point. To be honest with you, I’m fans of everyone that is going against me, so I wouldn’t feel bad at all.
