Several days after releasing his mixtape Cabin Fever, Wiz Khalifa made his way to Atlanta to hold a listening party for his upcoming album, Rolling Papers. After the event, rolling out spoke with several tastemakers and fans to get their opinion of the album. –a.r.
World Famous G-Mack
DJ
“Wiz Khalifa has party joints, feel-good joints, and chill music. I like the song “Roll Up” the most. If the label does what it’s suppose to do and Wiz does what he’s supposed to do, it should be a big album. His fans are into new media so they will tweet about [it], Facebook and download the album. And him partnering with different brands will also give him a lager impact.”
Bernetta Waller
CEO, Proud Mother Candle Company
“It’s a good album. As a young entrepreneur, one line that stuck out to me was when he said, ‘I’m young gifted and making millions.’ I think the album will be as big as the single ‘Black and Yellow.’ People will appreciate his work.”
Mya Smith
Student, CAU
“It sounds good. It doesn’t sound like anything I’ve heard so far. I think people will like the album and it will be good for hip-hop.”
Tye
Student, Druid Hills High School
“I think the album is good and I will buy the album. I like the song ‘Roll Up’ the best. Wiz has his own lane, no one is rapping like him now.”
J Wright
B-Entertained
“It’s something for the club. When the album drops, people will say that’s everywhere but it’s put together well. I think it will be classic. I think it will be like Lupe Fiasco times 10 since he will be able to reach another audience.”
