Fashion Designer Byron Lars Launches ‘Charmaine King’ Barbie

Fashion Designer Byron Lars Launches 'Charmaine King' Barbie

New York-based fashion designer Byron Lars launched a new Barbie called Charmaine King. Byron Lars fashions are seen on Michelle Obama and many more. Byron started his own label in 1991 and has been going strong ever since. Designing for Barbie for more than 16 years, Lars’ fashions are very unique and remind you what you would see right off the runways in Milan, Paris or New York City.

He combines fashion and culture and is a true original. The inspiration behind this doll was from the Steampunk genre, a stylish blend of futuristic fashion and culture with architecture and art, as envisioned through a Victorian lens. From the fitted, gorgeous strapless mermaid gown to the exceptional accessories that include a matching lace scarf, chain belt, fingerless gloves and racing goggles, Charmaine is looking pretty fierce, if you ask me. The beautiful Barbie retails for $100.00. For us serious Barbie collectors, this would be a great doll to add. –tammie reed
