Fake Drake Managers Strike Again by Booking Shows in Pennsylvania

Fake Drake Managers Strike Again by Booking Shows in PennsylvaniaDrake fans living in Stroudsburg, Pa., didn’t experience the best of weeks, as they fell prey to yet another scam involving the Young Money star. According to Philly.com, two individuals claiming to be the manager and tour manger for Drake booked two shows at Stroudsburg’s Sherman Theater for the artist. The tickets — which sold for $50 each — immediately sold out for both shows.

Drake fans in the community were greatly anticipating the concert, only then to be let down when the ruse was foiled. When the managers began asking for up-front money from the ticket sales, the president of the theater become suspicious. After doing some background checks — something that should have been done in advance — he realized that the two were frauds and contacted the authorities.

Both shows have now been canceled, and the monies to all involved have been returned.

This isn’t the first time that Drake’s name has been illegally used for profit, as several attempts to profit from false association have been thwarted over the years. It just goes to show that you can never be too sure that people are who they say they are. –djr
