How long have you been a salon owner?
I have been a sole proprietor at Salons Of Atlanta for three years. The name of my suite is “Suite” Beautiful Hair.
What attracted you to the beauty industry?
I would style my hair all the time and my friends and family would ask me to do theirs. Once I realized how much money I made while also having fun, I was hooked.
How do you maintain a peaceful environment for your staff and clients?
I try to make them feel at home by providing a relaxing atmosphere. We provide Wi-Fi, light refreshments, television, relaxing music and whatever else the clients need to make their visits more enjoyable — not to mention the best quality services in Sandy Springs.
What is your specialty?
I specialize in all hair textures and types. But if I had to choose my favorite service, it would be hair coloring.
Why did you become a hair stylist?
I really had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I believe my craft is a gift from God. When I was younger, I always wanted to fly planes, but He had other plans. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love what I do. It’s effortless.
What is the most memorable client experience you’ve had?
I have [had] several. It is most rewarding to have a client who is overjoyed with a transformation that I provided them with. When clients tell you that they feel good about themselves after getting their hair done, that’s the best feeling.
What three hair tips would you give our readers?
Get trims every six to eight weeks. Seek professional help for all chemical services. You get what you pay for, [so go for] quality.
