Patti LaBelle Sued for Brutal Houston Airport Beating
R&B diva extraordinaire Patti LaBelle has been accused of initiating the beating of a West Point cadet at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas on March 11. According to AOL’s The Boombox, the Houston Chronicle reports that Richard King, 23, was talking to his brother on his cell phone while approaching the airport’s passenger pickup area where Ms. LaBelle’s limousine was parked. The security camera footage from the airport shows King being suddenly struck and thrown against a concrete pillar by LaBelle’s body guards. The man even tries to get up but seems to be too hurt to recuperate—one of the bodyguards continue to stand over him as a gesture that almost seems like he thinks the man will try to retaliate.

“Apparently, defendant LaBelle believed King was standing too close to her (no doubt expensive) luggage, even though he was oblivious to her presence and the danger he was in,” King’s attorney John Raley said in the lawsuit filing. “LaBelle lowered the window of her limousine and gave a command to her bodyguards. They sprang into action.”

“There can never be any justification for the savage battery of King,” the lawsuit proclaims. “Defendant LaBelle is hot-tempered herself … She was a full participant in the cruel attack on King. She ordered it, and never tried to stop it.”

Immediately following the beating, as King is seen placed on a stretcher, Patti LaBelle begins taking pictures with police officers as fans and spectators stand around her presence. From motioning her bodyguards to attack the poor guy, to smiling in pictures with fans immediately after the incident like nothing ever happened, I seriously think that Patti LaBelle is a real thoroughbred OG (original gangster)! What do you think?
