Casey Anthony was scheduled to be released from jail in six days on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, according to a breaking report on “In Session” on truTV. However, after the time served was recalculated, the new release date has been amended to Sunday, July 17, 2011.
Casey Anthony, also known as “Tot Mom,” thanks to the endless, energetic efforts of former prosecutor and talk-show host Nancy Grace, had been sentenced earlier this morning (July 7) by Judge Belvin Perry in a Florida court. Anthony, now 25, received the maximum sentence of a total of four years in prison and $4,000 in fines.
Don’t get too excited.
Although she had been found guilty on four counts of lying to police during the investigation into the disappearance of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Marie Anthony, Perry and the lawyers on both sides have to sort through the various remaining charges and compare them to the nearly three years she already has served as well as credit she will get for “good behavior.” [Good behavior? So, that matters now?]
Before the sorting ended, Perry already estimated that Anthony’s projected release date will be late July or early August … just in time to enjoy a good summer vacation and beach party. –arnell pharr
